I earned a MA in Counseling Ministries years ago at a seminary. One requirement was a chaplaincy internship. We were not trained to specifically speak the gospel so much as just be good counselors. The gospel was more implied. Possibly shared if the person you were speaking with was interested. I ended up not going that route, but it was an eye opening experience.

I joined the British army in the early 2000s and I also never heard a chaplain preach the gospel! Thank God later I found out about a ministry such as the military scripture readers who job was to do exactly just that! Preach the gospel!

It is sad that most chaplains and main stream churches like preaching philosophy and theories but not the gospel. They even hardly invite people to receive Jesus. They need to move on to the gospel as urged in Hebrews 5:12,13.

God made man and woman, and gave the choice of immortality and goodness with God or mortality and sin which causes pain and death. They chose death because they would get more knowledge, they thought they would be gods.
