❤❤❤ I needed this reminder this morning. There are new skills I'm learning that I've needed and longed for since childhood. In spite of controlling individuals who need just as much help as I need, God is using their refusal to seek Him towards my favor. He's helping me learn, not only to trust Him more and more as I prayed for 5 years ago, He's also helping me learn the process of becoming a more assertive person, as complex as it feels right now. But that's okay, as complex and confusing as it gets to feeling, just keeps driving me to seek God more and more so I can learn and grow. One day, He will have me strong enough to stand in this world without those who abuse, to know how to identify them before allowing myself to become entangled in an unhealthy relationship, and to identify those who are emotionally safe and responsible to build new relationships with. And the best relationship of all is my relationship with HIM. I grew up being taught that God was some cop hiding in the clouds just waiting to catch me doing something wrong so I could be punished. But in spite of that, I've finally been given the gift of understanding Him from the same perspective I see Jesus and the Holy Spirit❤ there has been no greater blessing than to be able to see and even feel the love of the Holy Trinity rather than the nightmare my mind tried to make sense out of for decades.
