Years ago, 37 to be exact, I had left a boyfriend but found I was pregnant. I knew Iβd keep the baby, had a 7 year old already. Family wasnβt going to be easy to deal with so off I went to this church thinking I could find some good support as I wasnβt willing to go back with the father. So family would see just the mess, I saw the blessings. So my son and I went to this church. I went to church after church during my life and had went to church as a young child. I always felt confused because it seemed to me, everyone knew God, the way, but I needed relationship, soβ¦..At the end as they invited us to come to the front, I turned to my son and said I have to go but will be right back. Truth, God spoke to me and said, in my heart, go in front of all publicly and declare your belief in me, or something to that effect. I did so and I walked toward the front knowing he was pulling me to do so. When I got up there an old man grabbed me very roughly and immediately put me in a room. No one ever came in. I went to the door and looked, only one in the church was my son all alone. I was devastated, embarrassed, confused, etc. I rushed home. All week I worked and accepted that I really was on my own. I would do what I had to do to do the right thing, but why didnβt God love me? Why would this have happened. Friday came and I tucked my son in to bed and I told him we were going to have a baby. He was the first to know. I went to the front of the apartments and sat out to ponder my choices. I put my head in my hands and said βoh Godβ. Suddenly a wind came from behind me where there was only a wall. I turned and the Holy Spirit went right through me. All I knew was that I would be held above it all. I never go to church and probably never will but God taught me how to hear from him and he tests us and places people in our way. I have forgiven that old man. Iβve learned to rely on him and surrender. The reason I donβt go to church is because I cry when heβs close and they wouldnβt understand so I choose privacy.
