"Any group that aims for the wealthy is probably in error". This stands out to me. I have noticed for years the concentrated emergence of churches prevalent in wealthy zipcodes. The thought being aware these households have more tithe available to them. How often are those sermons designed for itching ears? The goers primarily interested in business networking? While the poorest of places, most in need, are neglected. Jesus spoke of going to the poor. How is it so many educated Bible teachers and preachers miss this, or worse, ignore it? Often it's the model they were taught to imitate. It's even a spirit not of God influencing the leaders. Peter Drucker deliberately used his business influence to target American church leaders in order to insert his values based on secular humanism and enterprise. He set out to effectively undermine the church! Prince may have understood that well, especially as a deliverance minister and having lived in Charlotte, NC. I once heard a mega church pastor from Charlotte describe the city as being a "church graveyard". Wow. It's not limited to radio programs anymore. Consider how online churches proliferated during covid shutdown. Many of those ministries peddle "gospel" message, then continually press for giving to build their own mega platforms & building projects. Giving is good, but God knows the heart! Motive matters. Often times, people lack discernment in realizing there are idols involved. Idolize money... idolize the prophet or preacher... idolize the music... idolize a daily "word"... idolize their own idea of who Jesus is (Jesus + idol), not who He really is... idolize acquiring "knowledge" & "secrets revealed" in activities outside of the Holy Spirit... idolize recognition... the list goes on.
