Deuteronomy 6:10-12
Lord Jesus glorify yourself in this new year with which you have blessed me.
Send your Holy Spirit to help me understand and obey your guidance; grant me the wisdom, strength and courage to undertake and conquer in your name, and by your grace and power, the considerable challenges that lie ahead.
Heal me of any wrong beliefs that go against your will and purpose for my life. Change me into a new wineskin capable of safely holding the new wine with which you want to fill me.
Help me peacefully leave behind the people and things that no longer have a place in my life; likewise help me recognize and welcome those you have anointed and blessed for mutual company and support henceforth.
Make me invisible to the enemy, help me promptly recognize ungodly people and situations, and quickly establish appropriate boundaries. Send your angels to strengthen and protect me; particularly from any resistance or sabotage that may arise when I walk away from the past.
Help me Lord Jesus to run every decision by you, keep me from acting impulsively, driven by my flesh. Heal and deliver me from all anger, bitterness and unforgiveness.
Bar me from acting in controlling or manipulative ways.
May I always walk by faith and not by sight, fully trusting your ways and thoughts that are higher than mine, and that your plans for me and my house are to give us hope and a blessed future where you are always the center and Lord of our lives.
May this be so for all who love you, make us instruments of your peace.
