In anger I am like well if you refuse to tell us what you stand for you don't deserve to be in office. Is their a better response than this? The Bible is very clear on the separation of God's people and politics. Nothing wrong with being involved in society; in fact, Christians should be at the forefront of social issues. However, getting political is not our goal or purpose. Jesus is our divine Exemplar, and how much time did He preach about politics? Also, how did the union of church and state work out for our Lord? Paul wrote more NT epistles than anyone else, and what was his political stance? Avoid political distractions at all costs, and for multiple reasons - the main one being that we have a much more important work to do. Also, please note that the devil will work through the church in the last days via political means, meaning the Christian church will become so political and militant that they will work with the apostate power to legally impose a certain religious doctrine upon the United States (which will spread across the world). We know it as the mark of the beast. Never in history has a union of church and state worked out for God's people. How soon we have forgotten the Dark Ages, a time which will be repeated in the end (near future) due to another union of church and state.>> <<@imabeast7560 says : YOu canNOT be Christian and vote Democrat.>> <<@kaboom9081 says : Jesus didn't lead the apostles to a rebellion against Roman oppression. For the first time in the history of the conservative political movement, they feel like they have to say that character should not matter. He is “flawed”, but he can potentially deliver a little bit of power, control and security, help us legislate morality so that we can “clean the outside of the cup”, give us an opportunity to teach the ten commandments in the public square and dominate the media. But is that what’s best for the kingdom of God? Are laws more important than hearts? Is our comfort more important than our witness? Are physical lives more important than eternal souls? Before you dismiss the importance of character, I challenge you to listen to Trump’s words, “For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks”. Listen to what he says about immigrants, his opponents, his former staff members/advisors who have disagreed with him on his election claims, about Putin, Xi Jinping, Orban & other dictators, about how he treats women, read his Christmas and Easter posts, think about how he has changed his position from decidedly pro-life to pro-reproductive rights, how he does not shy away from messianic comparisons. Think about how his rhetoric has influenced the church and what it has done to our gospel witness. Think about whether you will have the high ground to judge the moral decline of this nation after dismissing the moral corruption of its leader, especially someone who identifies himself as the champion for Christian values. Pray about it and if you still believe he is worth compromising your integrity for, go ahead and vote out of that conviction, but don’t coerce believers who don’t share your conviction.>> <<@maxedoutmotivation8430 says : If you believe the state legislating religion is what God desires, you don't know Jesus. There are good, historical reasons for which Christians and pastors may be reluctant to allow politics to encroach into the church. The way that the Catholic church has wielded temporal power in the past is enough to recommend caution, but even in recent U.S. history, there has been, on the popular, cultural level, an unfortunate conflation of Christianity and Republican political positions. (To be clear, this does not mean that I have anything against Republican political positions per se.) A pastor who genuinely seeks to avoid this detriment to the Gospel may seek to separate politics (at least in overt forms; Biblical cultural issues must be addressed) out from the church precisely out of a motivation to feed the sheep and protect the Gospel. I recently saw a message form Pastor Jack Hibbs go so far as to say that, if a Christian abstains from voting, it is a sin. As we approach the election, I think that this type of rhetoric is getting out of hand. Again, I like Frank Turek, and I also think that he makes some really good points in this video. I also understand that, if he is forceful, it is because he is passionate about defending the Gospel, but, ultimately, there must be room here for pastors and elders to serve the specific needs of their church, and for a Christian to not violate his own conscience before God. Also, thanks for the ivoterguide site. That looks really useful.>> <<@Kopaka-ep7ug says : This was absolute đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„>> <<@ChrisGriffithCrimeAuthor says : I pray that God bless you and your MUCH needed Ministry wherever you go to share it. Jesus didn’t get involved with that fight. His kingdom is not of this world. Don’t fear Frank, Jesus is in control, go share Jesus. He’s the answer as the republicans keep shifting left as our culture does. Life, off the platform, traditional marriage, off the platform, all to cater to the cultural shift. The Gospel is the answer. Go vote, but it’s not the answer, not even close. And they can’t keep us from sharing the gospel, not even in North Korea, the gates of hell won’t prevail against the church, never has, never will. And our prosperity and freedom hasn’t helped spread the gospel lately, which explains our cultural condition. Persecution always fans the flames of revival. Maybe that’s what’s happening. Maybe judgement has come. If so let’s go out into the fields and sow and water. Quit fear mongering to get some man elected. Preach the gospel and share the hope of the world. I am bothered, however, when I go to church and I'm supposed to learn from Galatians 5 (or whatever passage it might be), but my pastor spends half of his time at the pulpit talking about Trump or some other political issue and then we only get a 10-15 minute sermon. THAT bothers me. Leaving church thinking more about politics than about the Bible I think is an issue in some Churches. I don't think there's anything that is necessarily wrong with mentioning political things from the pulpit, but it shouldn't take up so much time and it should, at the very least, be related to whatever passage of scripture you're supposed to be looking at that morning. If your pastor is talking about political things from the pulpit and it is completely unrelated from what you're supposed to be learning in the scriptures then that is a waste of time.>> <<@chronic_daydreamer says : “I do not request that you take them out of the world, but that you watch over them because of the wicked one. But as it is, my Kingdom is not from this source.” - John 18:36 “And I saw the wild beast and the *kings of the earth and their armies* gathered together to wage war *against* the one seated on the horse and against his army.” - Revelation 19:19 If you are for Christ and his Kingdom, you CANNOT share in the kingdoms of the world, for they are against him, regardless of whatever anyone in power claims. ALL the kingdoms of the world are in rebellion and opposition against God’s Kingdom, and to support them in any way is to withdraw your support for God’s Kingdom.
