I would love for either one of these gentlemen to give me just one valid benefit for a man to get married in this day and age of corrupt divorce laws, that practically give a woman all full control in the marriage. What’s the point of having children when the divorce courts yank them from the father and delegate the father to 4days a month of “VISITATION”. The Bible is very clear, but somehow he's completely wrong on big issues. 18:40 Abortion. "In my view." Yeah, there's the first problem. You just confessed this is your opinion and not Biblical right there. But for something that's supposedly so simple, there's a LOT of roundabout attempts at trying to connection abortion as a Biblical sin. Abortion is NEVER condemned in the Bible. In fact it's never mentioned. However Exodus 21 confirms that a baby in the womb is NOT worth a human life and Leviticus 27 says a child under a month old (not to mention unborn) has no value. So there's the real answer. It's not at conception or even after birth. It's at least a month after birth before a child is considered worth in the Bible. And cases of John and Jesus are NOT the average human. And yes, abortion was absolutely a thing during the whole of the Old and New Testament times and would have been relatively common. Please don't warp historical fact as abortion being seen as only a modern issue. It's fine if you oppose abortion, but don't claim it's a Christian value. We don't have an official stance as far as the Bible is concerned, but it leans closer to abortion being fine. Sexuality. That's all over the place in the Bible, but modern Christianity seems to equally take an extreme purist view in word, but extreme degeneracy in practice. For instance, a man lusting over a woman is NOT adultery itself. Matthew 5:28 is referring to a MARRIED man lusting over another woman. Or lusting over a married woman, whether a man is married or not. It's utterly impossible and nonsensical to believe that an unmarried man can commit adultery with an unmarried woman. Further, what man hasn't lusted after his own wife before they were married? If we take this puritan view, every married man (and woman for that matter) is condemned to hell because they had lusted for their eventual spouse before marriage. Hopefully that comes off as insane because it is. And yet that's the presentation we're given. Add to sexuality, while the virtues of a woman being a virgin are regularly pointed to for an unmarried woman, at no point does the Bible ever say that sex before marriage is a sin. When it talks about sexual immortality, it's talking about sexual deviations. Homosexuality, adultery (actual adultery), sex with prostitutes, bestiality. These and other sexual deviances are fornication, NOT sex between an unmarried man and unmarried woman. 1 Corinthians 7 talks about sexual immorality's protection is having a spouse to have sex with. It's a dedication to have sex with one another and not participate in sexually immoral acts that are actually listed (which an unmarried man or woman might lead themselves toward if they don't have a spouse). Hopefully for those upset about my words never have to face Song of Solomon 4 or Proverbs 5 which talk about sexual desire of a woman being good and wholesome. This is all just bleed over of Catholicism's make-it-up-as-you-go-along nature bleeding over into Protestant values. It makes me think of believing Peter was hung on an upside down cross for his death. Something that's not only not in the Bible, but comes from what amounts to early fanfiction (Acts of Peter specifically). It's absolutely not Biblical, but treated as dogmatic fact. Meanwhile things that are actually in the Bible, like don't get tattoos (Leviticus 19:28), don't crossdress (Deuteronomy 22:5. Which a lot of Christians get frothing at the mouth angry when I point out that women wearing pants is exactly that), or especially after reading all of this, "bearing false witness" (Exodus 20:16, Proverbs 8:7, Ephesians 4:25, others) where if anyone actually reads this far, will come up with all sorts of wild reasons why all of what I said is wrong. But will conveniently not provide any scripture or will knowingly sidestep the topic (referring abortion as murder to appeal to the 6th commandment, or Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" knowingly taking it out of context and knowing it has nothing to do with abortion anyway). Modern Christians largely just parrot what they're told and can't explain where it came from, much less how it's Biblical in the first place. Or like in this video, taking some scripture and warping it's meaning to fit a modern narrative instead of listening to God's word.>> <<@sirmitch1 says : All black and white in your face issues nothing gray about them. When a person make a bad choice to dive in to sexual immorality, that person has invited in a demon spirit to dwell in their body. I define atheism as suspending any acknowledgment as to the reality of any particular god until sufficient credible evidence is presented. My position is that *_I currently have no good reason to acknowledge the reality of any god._* And here is why I currently hold to such a position. Below are 11 facts I must consider when evaluating the claim made by certain theists that a particular god exists in reality. To be clear, these are not premises for any argument which _concludes_ there to be no gods. These are simply facts I must take into account when evaluating the verity of such a claim. If any of the following facts were to be contravened at a later time by evidence, experience, or sound argument, I would THEN have good reason to acknowledge such a reality. 1. I have never been presented with a functional definition of a god. 2. I personally have never observed a god. 3. I have never encountered any person who has claimed to have observed a god. 4. I know of no accounts of persons claiming to have observed a god that were willing or able to demonstrate or verify their observation for authenticity, accuracy, or validity. 5. I have never been presented with any _valid_ logical argument, which also introduced demonstrably true premises that lead deductively to an inevitable conclusion that a god(s) exists in reality. 6. Of the many logical syllogisms I have examined arguing for the reality of a god(s), I have found all to contain a formal or informal logical fallacy or a premise that can not be demonstrated to be true. 7. I have never observed a phenomenon in which the existence of a god was a necessary antecedent for the known or probable explanation for the causation of that phenomenon. 8. Several proposed (and generally accepted) explanations for observable phenomena that were previously based on the agency of a god(s), have subsequently been replaced with rational, natural explanations, each substantiated with evidence that excluded the agency of a god(s). I have never encountered _vice versa._ 9. I have never knowingly experienced the presence of a god through intercession of angels, divine revelation, the miraculous act of divinity, or any occurrence of a supernatural event. 10. Every phenomenon that I have ever observed appears to have *_emerged_* from necessary and sufficient antecedents over time without exception. In other words, I have never observed a phenomenon (entity, process, object, event, process, substance, system, or being) that was created _ex nihilo_ - that is instantaneously came into existence by the solitary volition of a deity. 11. All claims of a supernatural or divine nature that I have been presented have either been refuted to my satisfaction or do not present as _falsifiable._ ALL of these facts lead me to the only rational conclusion that concurs with the realities I have been presented - and that is the fact that there is *_no good reason_* for me to acknowledge the reality of any particular god. I have heard often that atheism is the denial of the Abrahamic god. But denial is the active rejection of a substantiated fact once credible evidence has been presented. Atheism is simply withholding such acknowledgment until sufficient credible evidence is introduced. *_It is natural, rational, and prudent to be skeptical of unsubstantiated claims, especially extraordinary ones._* I welcome any cordial response. Peace.>> <<@larzman651 says : I can't do 50 minutes so I will leave the gospel. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil>> <<@jdc4483 says : The core issue is that the "Five Issues" you reference the church's should be educating their congregations on, are the very five issues the Church leaders *deliberately avoid* teaching on, leaving Christians to learn from the Secular world.>> <<@brosebrose4154 says : Jesus Christ is God!>> <<@gi169 says : Thank you CrossExamined it was an awesome podcast.
