The only thing I would add is that even though it may be unlikely their orientation will change, it’s not an impossibility. God does and can change a person completely. If you or someone you love are struggling with this thorn in your flesh, and are a redeemed child of the Most High God, Christ must be your focus. In Christ alone, through His Holy Spirit, you can walk in victory over your sin nature. He is mighty to save and He gives us the strength to choose Him over any temptation. (1 Corinthians 10:13) Ultimately, the Sovereign Lord allows certain circumstances in our lives to demonstrate His perfect glory. Do we give in to temptation because He placed the thorn there? No! We reject the temptation at every turn so that the desire may be put to death. This is what Jesus describes as denying ourselves and taking up our cross (daily)to follow Him. (Matt. 16:24-27). It’s a daily struggle against sin. Sometimes we fail, but we repent and get right back up until we overcome it completely. This is the “cross” we bear, but we don’t bear it alone. Will we choose to rule and reign our own lives?? Or will we allow Him to rule and perfect us into the image of Christ - no matter the personal cost? Choose today whom you will serve. Your creator is faithful and the worldwide body of Christ is here, praying for you. We don’t condemn. We equip you with the sword of truth. And when children are sent to therapy they are in it for years to see if they really are this other way.
