Why we needed a 33 year old man to die in the most painful way is the question. Why couldn't he have been 34 or 32 years old? Why in the prime of his life, at the peak of his ministry? It's the concept we need to explore.

This is goofy. It's like saying that some dude long ago was really gluttonous and that's why we have backed up toilets. And if you pledge allegiance to, and seek to emulate as much as you can, some super duper clean freak who voluntarily killed ("sacrificed") himself by jumping into a vat of untreated sewage, you can be free of this modern inconvenience for all time.

of course it’s not fair. If your loved one got into a fight and is about to be killed, you don’t go “he picked a fight, let him face the consequence” No.. you would save him with all means necessarily because you love this person. This makes no sense. Isn’t the belief that Jesus is god? So wouldn’t that mean God “sent” himself? And wouldn’t that mean God was on the cross as a sacrifice? But because He’s God it wouldn’t be a sacrifice because he’s everlasting? And therefore there is no point in going on the cross… Christians teach Jesus is the son but he’s also the same God of Abraham. Situations like this show clearly they don’t truly believe in both but fluctuate between the two depending on the issue under discussion. And then when something doesn’t make sense they’ll say Jesus is 100% human but also 100% God. Is He or is He not a completely different entity from God?

"The word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." The crazy part about it all is that we don't want God's justice. We don't want God's fairness. Those options don't turn out very well for us. The only option that gets us out of jail and satisfies God's justice is, from the human perspective, an enormous act of injustice.

If Jesus is god and god is Jesus, was it really a sacrifice? Like if you know for a fact you’re a god who can’t die, and you give yourself human flesh for 30 years, and then you allow that human flesh to get destroyed so you can go back to your true form to rule over everything after a weekend in the ground, is it really a sacrifice? Idk, seems kinda pointless since you’re the all powerful god who made the rules in the first place. I have kids, and when they do something bad and they apologize, I forgive them, I don’t sacrifice one of them lol

his question wasn't answered. at least not in this short, idk if it was answered in the original conversation. under normal circumstances, it makes no sense that if *I* do something wrong, someone *else* should pay the consequences. like if i damage someone's property, *I* deserve the punishment of having to pay for the repairs. if someone else pays for repairs in my place, and i get away with no punishment at all, that's absurd and no justice is being done. UNLESS the victim of the crime finds that acceptable. for example, perhaps i'm a child and the property i damaged was my dad's, and my older brother steps in and pays for the repairs. see where this is going? when it comes to sin, God is the "victim" of our "crime," therefore He is the one who gets to decide what's just. and He decided that if someone else "pays the price" for our crime, and if we turn away from our bad behavior, then He'd find that acceptable and forgive us for our wrongdoing. our older brother pays the price, and our father forgives us. all involved parties accept the terms, and so justice is done.

Christianity is so ridiculous. Invent a God that has an over-the-top justice system of "just being born is enough to earn you eternal tortures without end!"...and then sell an immoral and unjust scapegoating scheme of "but if you just believe this story and join our cult, then you can commit almost any evil and not be punished for it." Sick. Twisted. Immoral. Unethical. Unjust. How could any sane, thinking person fall for this nonsense?

<<@gingercake0907

God doesn’t run around gathering the consensus of man. He doesn’t operate on the whims of man. If what you want doesn’t line up with God’s will, God won’t be honoring your will. Now from the beginning Adam and Eve deserved death for betraying God and following Satan. Adam and Eve betrayed God who had done everything for them, to follow Satan, who had done nothing for them. God is His love grace and mercy didn’t execute them because He knew He was sending Jesus. You are not going to get answers to these questions on social media because you will need to spend intentional, diligent time studying the Bible to have your questions answered.

Jesus went to the cross not as a sacrifice or in place of us or for our sins, he was condemned by the Jews to the cross, to death with Pilate's cognition. But where we can't come back from death as death is the penalty for sin, Jesus can as He is life and has no sin. And that coming back defeats deaths which no man could defeat till this son of man did. So in a sense what I couldn't do, He did as I am lost to sin and death; But here life eternal overcame death and in Him all get life. So in that sense Jesus is the sacrifice that defeats death and makes life possible for all in Him. So "sacrifice" isn't the cause for Jesus to go to the cross and to Sheol, But To beget life to all is the cause and sacrifice is appropriated as no one else can do this, but God. This is the oriental orthodox understanding of what Jesus did. The Protestant and Evangelical understanding is one that is professed in the past 500 years not as in the first 500 years since Christ's resurrection.

LOVE hearing them admit to the lie of the Trinity. If Jesus ASKED God something, then he WASN'T God. If he CRIED out to God on the cross, then he WASN'T God. If he COUNSELED with God in Gethsemane, then he WASN'T God. The Trinity was a concept created 200 years after the crucifixion to prevent men from claiming divine powers and to fortify Jesus's teachings, bc too many people were asking "why should we follow the words of a mortal man?" But it's a lie, no matter. The "three" big powers in this world are good, evil and neutral. If God was truly omnipotent, there would be no war in heaven or influence from evil, bc a snap of his finger would end it. But there is pain, suffering and darkness in this world bc even at the divine level, evil is a power that must be fought. So look to focus on ways to do that, not get fooled by the rewritten scripture that claims Jesus went back to before his own birth and knocked up his own mother, or that the 31% of this world composed of desert nomads and jungle tribesmen who will never even HEAR about Jesus Chris are gonna burn forever in Hell for not worshipping a man they were never even aware of.

Frank, god created the crime by creating Adam and Eve incomplete, not knowing right from wrong. He then put the temptation in front of them, he lied to them that would die and then created the talking snake who only spoke the truth. At the end all god had to do was say I forgive your mistake, but he didn't , he put a generational curse on mankind and then later on greats everyone that is alive a pardon. The drawback is that you must believe in some person that you have never seen. If you have never that person then you don't the pardon and then you are condemned for eternity to be tortured for a crime you didn't commit was convicted of anyway. Sorry no loving merciful parent would do that to his children, he would forgive them and teach them why what they did was wrong. If you are going to a legal angle it won't work because no judge would punish an innocent person, knowingly, for the crimes of some one else and he would no allow someone to take the punishment for a criminal either.
