The Bible never really mentions anything about Mary's near family. Perhaps Mary had such a devotion and love for God, and everyone else around her were too busy preoccupied with farming, and town gossip, and other things of the world that they thought of her as the 'odd one' in the family, and Mary really had no one else to talk to.
