I'm starting to think the term depression is just made up. I mean I'm sad. There's nothing wrong with me, I'm just sad about the state of this world. Now the narrative is we should be happy no matter what, and if you're not then they diagnose you with a disorder. I'm sorry i can't fake being happy and I sure won't let me believe there's something wrong with me for not conforming.

Adventism, Sabbath keeping and Mental Illness PART 1 of 2 The root source of the Adventist’s problems are basic dishonesty, which originated from the source of their religion, Ellen G. White (EGW). *THE SOURCE AND DISHONESTY* ………. As EGW began her group, she became a casual reader and became somewhat familiar with the text of the scripture without understanding the basic context. Whatever she studied; as do the SDA members, she became convinced that the weekly Sabbath was binding upon Christians as much as it was the Jews. During the process, she was willing to read into the text of scripture many things that were not there. And, she taught her followers to do so as well. When EGW was faced with a problem of context and the fact that the verses did not support her conjecture, she was forced to use the defense of many cults, “Satan” did it. Her followers’ resort to the same defense when backed into a position where they can no longer defend or even wish to consider the possibilities of another position. *INTERNAL TURMOIL* ……………. In the Adventist, all of this creates an internal turmoil that results in a lashing out against all society and especially Christianity, whom the consider the source of all evil next to Satan himself. They are faced with the facts internally, that they are not able to live up to the standards and fall way short of keeping the 10 commandments. On the other hand, they are required to tell everyone that they believe they *are* keeping the 10 commandments. Lying to themselves becomes a habit, before it finally becomes lying to everyone else. How can one confess sin to God and at the same time tell everyone they keep the 10 commandments?! They don’t confess sin, that reminds them of the conflict of conscience with what they profess….. Sabbath keeping becomes the easy short cut, to claiming they are righteous before men and God, without having to live up to the other 9 commandments. Finally, they start to believe themselves, because others in their cult, have said it themselves so often. But, once again, the human conscience constantly nags at them, with the facts, that they simply don’t come close. They are consoled that “At least they keep the Sabbath day” and that’s good enough. Being dishonest with themselves, God and the public becomes a way of life. *THE INTERNET* ………… Added to the complexity of this is the internet has made so much information available that they are constantly bombarded with the facts that the Sabbath is not required by Christians. The book of Acts, Galatians and Colossians are constantly thrown in their face. Then add, requirements for “Food and Drink” restrictions along with Sabbath keeping. And, the average SDA member says, “that’s enough” . I can’t handle anymore. Still, the constant falling short of keeping the 10 commandments nags at them, and they lash out at Christianity as the only place where they can get away with all that bottled up anger and not be punished for it. *THE REALITY* …………….. To worsen matters, as they live the SDA life and make friends, they find that they aren’t the only ones not living the 10 commandments. Lying, stealing, coveting, divorce, porn, drugs, illicit sexual activity, unfair business practices and even abortion, all exist in the SDA environment. However, to own up to it, would defy “Keeping the commandments” as the pretend. The soul is troubled by the fact that all this Sabbath keeping, the giving up of money, their jobs, possibly children…etc, to be thought as a “strange cult member” often mixed up with the Mormons and the JW’s hasn’t been paying off that well. So, more anger, more frustration and more lashing out, at the only place they can do with impunity and that is against Christianity. Historians and scholars of the SDA all admit that EGW was confronted repeatedly with the facts, that the bible did not teach Sabbath keeping to anyone other than the Jews in both the Old and in the New Testament and that just because Jesus, the Apostles and Paul were all Jewish, *did not mean, that the Gentiles had to become Jewish before becoming Christians.* In order to escape these arguments, EGW would have a vision, and profess what “she saw” . And that become the solution to all arguments from the bible or otherwise. An ‘angel” told her and what see saw became greater than all other thing, and everything taught was to be measured by her supposed visions. Back in those days, you could get away with that stuff, but not so anymore. PART 2 OF 2 *THE SOCIAL AFFECT* ………….. After giving your being over to the SDA cult, you become entrenched in the social environment and the fun of being *SPECIAL* AND ELITIST, starts to comfort you and enable you to cope with the contradiction that still troubles the soul. As time goes by, the member becomes bitter against “the world” of Christianity in order to find some way to resolve or mask the troubling of the soul. Someone other than themselves has to be the blame, so everyone outside their cult becomes “Satan” . *What possibly could lead someone to profess they keep the law or the 10 commandments and then falsely accuse all of Christianity as *“Satan worshipers”* because the pray and worship Christ upon the day Christ was resurrected!!* The bottom line remains the same, they still can’t keep the 10 commandments and the soul is anything but at rest. When confronted with the truth, that God and Christ both loves and cherishes the Gentile as much as the Sabbath keeper, the Adventist member refuses to look at it. Because, if it were true, It would mean they have been wrong and sent people to hell for preaching and participating in false gospel. After giving many years to the cult, and trying to convince all the people you know, that they are wrong, it would mean a life wasted in a cult in vain after giving up so much for the cult. The magnitude of personal guilt and thought of how horrifying that would be to them becomes unfathomable and the mind and soul refuses to see its error. It’s far easier to continue on in the wrong, than it is to change now. And so, the average Adventist dies, never repenting, too afraid to admit error, and the truth. Pride, self-will and the inability to critique oneself for so short a time overcomes any chance of eternal salvation. *AND FINALLY, THE TRUTH* …………. All they had to do, was admit that they couldn’t keep the 10 commandments like they pretended, come to Christ and ask forgiveness of sin. The law and even the 10 commandments were given to cause people to understand, the law is righteous, but men are not. And, thus find forgiveness and grace in our Lord Jesus Christ. To humble themselves and yield to the “fountain of all grace and truth” Jesus Christ . Be filled with the Holy Spirit and fulfill the entire law of God, not be works of the law, *but by the fruits of the Spirit* which emanates from the body of Christ, his Church. How difficult is that? *SIN AND THE LAW* ….. Sin is the transgression of the law, because sin comes from the heart, and it is the heart needs to be changed by the Holy Spirit. The goal of the law was to bring you to Christ, who is the perfect example of Love in every way. Instead of lashing out against the world, it was to *“so love the world”* that you give up everything for Christ as Christ did for his Father. (John 3:16). The Adventist err greatly when the pray for the “law to be written in their hearts” because they don’t mean through the working of the Holy Spirit, *they mean through the law.* That is an impossibility. The law can only haunt you with your inability of the keep it! It’s up to you to turn to the Lord who can help you fulfill the law of Love toward God and Neighbor. But, it requires admission, repentance and confession of sin, to find grace and forgiveness of sin. When the threat of Eternal Punishment for their grave sin gave them deep motivation to examine their conscience, EGW conveniently had a vision to blame the truth of the gospel of the Apostles and Christ as “pagan” rather than the truth. And, then she mocked and scorned the doctrine as from “Satan”. Which the SDA still do today, having no fear of God or conscience. . The Adventist can start today to turn to the Lord of all grace and truth, and learn to be honest with God, themselves and the public and begin with simply saying, that “Col.2:16 does include with weekly Sabbath when it says, *HOLY DAY* AND *SABBATH* . Or, they can continue to deceive themselves and the public on the road to far greater torment in hell for their unrepentant, stubborn dishonesty and pride. Until they day of their death, they will continue to be tormented by their sins, the magnitude of the many they have helped to lead astray, unless they repent, OPENLY. God help them. As of today, I stand in doubt of them.

Psalms Chapter 51 1(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. 15O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. 16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. 18Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
