This sermon is dangerous because it can teach legalism, that if you do not act a certain way, God will cast you out, when God himself says 'I will never cast you out'. John 6:37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. You must not act in a way such as 'if I do not fulfill this spiritual quota for God, I won't be saved'. That is legalism, not grace. You will never have peace beyond understanding if you live that way, because you'll always doubt your salvation. This should not be trampled with 'I'm saved so I can keep sinning'. That is another dangerous doctrine that abuses grace and spits in the face of Christ. He bore so much torture for us, we should honor him in our body. Peace comes when you realize that you cannot earn your way into heaven. You are saved by the grace of God, through faith. All OUR works are filthy rags. If you try to 'be good' on your own terms to earn a place in heaven, you will fail. This is a matter of the heart. Genuine Christians who are saved and filled with the Holy Spirit will naturally, THROUGH the Holy Spirit accomplish works provided by God before the foundation of the world to be blameless in the sight of God. It is not by these works that you are saved, you do these works BECAUSE you are saved. We must submit ourselves daily to God, and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, by yielding. This is why we need 'daily bread'. Make time for God each day, and you will be living in the Spirit, and not fulfilling the desires of the flesh. You should worship God every day, not just Sunday. I have personally struggled with this legalistic approach to God and it took my peace away every day, because I am not good enough and can never be good enough to earn salvation. I struggle with 'fulfilling the spiritual quota', thinking that if I do not preach the gospel to x amount of people, or pray for x amount of people each day, God will throw me out of his kingdom. That is works based salvation and is a lie. One must realize that Christ did it all on the cross for us, and paid the ultimate price for our salvation. Apply his righteousness to yourself, every day. His grace is not a license to sin. We fall short, but we must humble ourselves and repent daily, this helps us keep our eyes fixated on Jesus. When it came to habitual sin, I was too focused on trying to stop the sin each day, instead of keeping my eyes on Jesus and spending time in the word. KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS. The habits will break when you keep your eyes and attention on Jesus. A raging fire of sin turned into a tiny pilot light in a matter of weeks, by the work of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. And their folly is clear to everyone. Throwing money at a ministry, won't get our own house in order.>>
