What he is preaching does not make any sense. I am a christian, and I love Derek princes sermons. But this one isnt clicking. How can Gods will not prevail when ours and His are in alignment? If I want something and God wants the same thing how can it be that I wont get it? Take his example of the mother asking for healing at 4:47 The woman wants her son to be healed, what does, surrendering it to the Lord even mean? He says that he wasnt saying trying to say that she should have accepted his death. What else could he have meant then? He says he wanted to point out that she was pressing her will, her will was that her son would be healed, was she supposed to will that he wouldnt be healed or that she doesnt care whether he is healed or not, THEN God would heal him. It just doesnt make any sense. If I am praying to be healed, how am i supposed to not want to be healed THEN God will heal me? Doesnt make sense. The prayer of Jesus also seems like a bad example because, he asked for the cup to be passed, and he surrended his will. But Jesus' prayer was not answered with a yes but instead with a NO. How this gets your prayer to be answered makes no sense. Finally, God always answers prayer. Either a yes, no, or wait. I learned that from pastor Derek himself. So its not about getting an answer, its about getting a yes. The way Derek taught this lesson makes no sense to me and I dont see how what he is talking about here gets your prayer answered with a yes. Sorry I just dont get it and I would appreciate if someone could help me understand this, thank you EDIT 1: After some thinking and praying I think I can better express my questions, they are as follows 1: What does it mean to surrender/ surrender something to God? 2: How do you surrender something to God correctly? 3: How does this help get prayers answered with a YES?
